Recently, the spiritual leader of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, Sheikh Ikrima Sabri, was injured by a plastic bullet after praying outside the gates of the famous site, according to Palestinian medical personnel. Al-Aqsa Mosque is the third holiest site in Islam after the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah.

Reports confirmed that the imam has just finished leading the night prayer when Israeli police attempted to disperse worshippers by force, leaving many injured, some seriously wounded but no reports of any dead. Sympathisers around wondered why the police would want to destabilize the worshippers.

Consequently, other worshippers and Sabri were rushed to the Al Maqassid Hospital in eastern Jerusalem and his condition has not been disclosed.

In response to the incident, Turkey’s Minister of Religious Affairs Mehmet Gormez “strongly condemned” the attack in a statement recently posted on Twitter:
“While our geography is facing tremendous pain, the incidents going on at Al-Aqsa Mosque and its surroundings have been bringing any prudent man to worry greatly. I believe that they will not let Al-Aqsa have the same fate as Al-Khalil Mosque, cave of discretion, prudency, moderation, and peace patriarchs Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joh.”

Further more, he made reference to the 1994 massacre at the Ibrabimi Msoque in Hebron where 30 Muslim worshippers were killed by a U.S.-born Jewish terrorist:
“The shooting occurred just hours after Rafaat al-Herbawi, 30, was killed during protests at the mosque as tensions rise across the West Bank after Israel installed metal detectors at the entrance to Al-Aqsa following a shootout which left five people dead.”

Research view according to Palestinian figure confirmed that more than 300 Palestinians have been killed in alleged attacks on Israelis or in clashes with Israeli forces since October 2015. A bad record so far which is still on the increase. Also, Israeli authorities explained that nearly 50 Israelis have been killed in attacks by Palestinians during the same period.

Reports also confirmed that the attacks between the two parties ” Isreali and Palestinian ” have taken away many innocent lives. Israel continued in 2016 to enforce severe and discriminatory restrictions on Palestinians’ human rights, to facilitate the transfer of Israeli civilians to the occupied West Bank, and to severely restrict the movement of people and goods into and out of the Gaza Strip.

As part of the attacks recorded, in January 2016, an Israeli man and teenage boy, in custody since their arrest in December 2015, were indicted for their role in an arson attack that killed a Palestinian couple and their toddler son in 2015. In May 2016, an Israeli man was sentenced to life imprisonment for the burning to death of a Palestinian child in July 2014.

The ratio at which the Israeli attack the Palestinian is on a wide range. Some of the Israeli had received legal punishment for their offenses while many have gone scot free. Many have cried and still crying out for peace to reign.
