Indian wrestler Sushil Kumar wins Commonwealth championship

New Delhi: India won a golden trophy in 2017 Commonwealth wrestling, according to the sources. Sushil Kumar beat South African Wrestler Johannes Petrus by 8-0 in men’s 74 kilogram free style category.

Indian was longing for that title for so long and with the win he clinched his fifth title at the Commonwealth level.

Sushil Kumar returned back to the country on December 18, 2017 with a gold medal after his fifth Commonwealth Wrestling Championship title.

According to official News Channel, he gave an exclusive interview, he said, “Although it was really tough situation to handle but with the prayers of my family and fans, I won the finale.”

“In the final round, I dominated my opponent without giving him any chance to make any sort of headway in the wrestling bout,” he added,

“I won 8-0 quite easily.”

He tweeted, “It’s a very proud and emotional moment for me as I have returned to the mat on international level after a gap of 3 years. I want to dedicate this Gold medal to my guru and to my Nation. Jai Hind.”

He later posted his photos of double Olympic medalist, with national flag on Tweeter and Instagram.
