Editorial:
Alhamdulliah! This Ramadan Muslims the world over will be blissfully celebrating the return of their designated focal point, humanity, and not venerated places. To Allah, SW, humanity has always been the focal point for believers. Lives of the believers are more sacred to Him than the Ka’bah or any other holy places in the world. We must therefore not lament on the closing of the Ka’abah while at the same time being complacent of lives lost through sectarian factions in some Muslim nations. People, not holy places, is the focal point in Islam. Has always been and shall forever be.
Abdullah ibn Umar reported: I saw the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, circling the Ka’bah and saying, “How pure you are and how pure is your fragrance! How great you are and how great is your sanctity! By the one in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, the sanctity of the believer is greater to Allah than your sanctity, in his wealth, his life, and to assume nothing of him but good.” Source: Sunan Ibn Mājah 3932
By the decree of Allah, SW, this Ramadan, the people of Mecca will direct their focus on the real people of Mecca and not the Ka’abah. The people of Madinah will direct their focus on the real people of Madinah and not the Prophet’s Masjid. The people of Palestine will focus on the real people of Gaza and not Masjid Aqsa. And the entire Muslim world will focus on the real people’s conditions, particularly people in war zones, extreme poverty, and some oppressive nature.
Lurking towards you are the diseases of the nations before you. Envy and hatred are the razor. I do not say it shaves hair, but rather it shaves the religion. By the one in whose hand is my soul, you will not enter Paradise until you have faith and you will not have faith until you love each other. Shall I tell you what can affirm that for you? Spread peace between yourselves. Source: Musnad Aḥmad 1415, Grade: Sahih
No worship services and venerated worship places must be allowed to divert our attention and focus away from humanity. The most sacred thing in the world is a life. The noblest of all services is to protect a life. The main focal point for all of us is humanity. And this Ramadan provides this wonderful opportunity. God is great!
Shall I not tell you of what is better in degree than extra fasting, prayer, and charity?
