Ilhan Omar, United States Representative has disclosed that foreign nations like Saudi Arabia and Israel have disproportionately influenced America’s foreign policy saying that money plays a huge role in giving the two countries that much influence.

In an interview she had with the British newspaper the Sunday Times this week before her book “This Is What America Looks Like: My Journey from Refugee to Congresswoman” was published, Omar said that the two countries had employed their financial strength to sweep their destructive policies under the carpet.

While criticizing Saudi’s role in influencing US policies, Omar said,
“We know the amount of money and influence and connection that the Saudis have with the administration is really the reason that everything destructive they do is nullified.”

“And that really is no different to what’s happening with Israel.” She added.

The fact that the US has overlooked certain questionable actions by Saudi Arabia and Israel has never for once escaped the attention of the public.

Leniency of the President Trump’s administration with Saudi over the killing of Jamal Khashoggi in 2018 and US backing of the Israel’s plan to annex the occupied West Bank as it continues to build settlements in the area.

This shows the extent to which the US foreign policies have been greatly impacted by the two countries who continue to use their financial leverage to influence the US.

“There’s an alarming connection to the really destructive policies Israel is proposing and how much of it is being rubber stamped by this administration. And how much of it is being urged by Americans who have connection and influence with this administration” added Omar

Omar also likened Saudi Arabia to Israel in her criticism of the two countries when she said, “I talk about Saudi blood money and them being bloodsuckers and no one says ‘This is Islamophobic.”
