Saudi Arabia, China discuss ways to boost trade ties

The Saudi-Chinese Business Council has held an virtual meeting to discuss ways to boost bilateral trade.

Disclosing this on Wednesday June 16, 2021, Mohammed Al-Ajlan, Chairman of the Saudi side of the council, explained several reforms the kingdom has implemented to facilitate foreign investors.

Muhammed therefore called on his Chinese counterparts to leverage the great opportunities that the Kingdom has to offer in different economic sectors.

The vice president of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Lin Yí, stated that Saudi Arabia is the most important partner for China in the Middle East.

He added that Beijing prioritises Riyadh in its foreign investment plans.

The Vice Chairman of the council, Saad Al-Kridis, stressed that the trade volume between the two countries has witnessed a surge.

“The Chinese investment in Saudi Arabia totaled $39.9 billion between 2005 and 2021,” he said.
