There is no stronger display of patriotism than the athletes in Rio.  While most of us, couch potatoes, cowardly debating about who belong in what country, their single focus is to raise their nations’ flags while playing their anthems at the end of each competition. Their personal sacrifices for our collective pride must never be overlooked. Even though they come from different backgrounds and neighborhoods, their generous spirit and true patriotism allow them to proudly represent even their most visible bigoted compatriots at home.  We all must learn from these diverse patriotic athletes who like our military angels are willing to give it all for the sake of their compatriots. We couldn’t be more blessed for their great sacrifices to keep our flag above, always. This is what the union is, not what the likes of Donald J. Trump are preaching.
