World boxing champion to make first visit to Sub-Saharan Africa

Chairman of Tettrazzini Group of Companies, Donatus Okonkwo has announced the coming of world Boxing Champion, Mayweather to Sub saharan Africa. He disclosed this, stating that the world Boxing Champion will be starting up with a visitation to Nigeria.

“Floyd is coming to sub Saharan Africa for the first time and he is starting in Nigeria.

“He would arrive on the 12th of June barely eight days from today, he would be around for four days and three nights.”

It is reported that the world champion will arrive Nigeria on June 12.  And will be engaging the speaker of the House of Representative, Yakubu Dogara in a charity bout.

Mr. Okonkwo listed four state which the boxer will touch on his visit.  He listed Lagos, Abuja, Akwa Ibom and Anambra. As for the bout between the world champion and the speaker,  Mr Okonkwo disclosed the venue to be at the Transcorp Hotel.

Widely considered the greatest boxer of his era, Floyd Mayweather Jr. was born Floyd Joy Sinclair on February 24, 1977, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Boxing is in his blood. His father, Floyd Sr., was a welterweight contender, and his uncle Jeff Mayweather is a former IBO super featherweight champion.

He gained attention after the Fight of the Century. Floyd Mayweather beat Manny Pacquiao to walk away with a fortune prize of 180 million dollars in 04 May 2015.
